Dr. Stephen Bates and Arkansas Children’s Jonesboro Clinic Join St. Bernards Medical Group
Pediatric neurologist Dr. Stephen Bates and Arkansas Children’s Jonesboro Clinic have joined St. Bernards Medical Group.
Dr. Bates earned his Medical Degree from the University of London – St. George Hospital, where he also completed an internship in pediatrics. He, then completed his pediatric neurology residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical where he was on the faculty and medical staff for 14 years as a practicing physician and instructor of pediatric neurology, epilepsy and rehabilitation. In 1988, Dr. Bates moved to Little Rock to serve as the director of pediatric neurology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, a position he held for nine years before relocating to Jonesboro.
Dr. Bates was a leader in creating and establishing the Arkansas Children’s Jonesboro Clinic and practices Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Jonesboro location, 520 Carson Street.
In addition to providing the Pediatric Neurology specialty to the region, Arkansas Children’s Hospital launched a subspecialty healthcare clinic in 2012, linking a statewide system of healthcare accessibility for children needing subspecialty and developmental care. The Arkansas Children’s Jonesboro Clinic offers clinics in Jonesboro in the areas of neurology, cardiology, neurosurgery, genetics, orthopedics, sleep disorders, surgery, urology and ear, nose and throat.
